This was a dress at Davids Bridal that i saw online and was pretty in love with. 

until i tried it on. so stiff!

its a nice 50's fantasy....

If i were a different type of lady maybe but the fact is that i love to be comfortable. and this was not. plus whose breasts are those? not mine.

same idea. very pretty, but felt more like wearing a costume to me than something i would want to wear on my flowing late summer wedding day.

i was wearing the most horrible corset type thing under these dresses that they lent me...ugh

Ashley suggested i try this one on and i am so glad, as it opened my mind to a more empire waisted goddess type dress

i kind of love this style veil too, but it only works with a certain type of dresss....

I'm loving the catholic virgin mary look here.

i like this alot but its not the one... we went to 2 other stores next that would not let us take pictures....we found a Stephen Yearick insanely gorgeous dress beaded crystals all over, simple sheath stunner but it was 1200 on sale soooo...... then we went to another place and found some more empire waisted flowing silk dresses with beading up top....i'm definately loving that look........what an adventure.... i am ready to find and decide now though! so much to do....]]>

Annddddd, its friday!

Thats what happen when you're having fun right...time flies! Me and everyone I know. I wonder if time feels different to those living closer to  nature like on a farm or in a yurt? I soooo want to have a farm and many yurts someday (soon). Until then it's us in the big ol' city. Which I love. LA is the city of angels you know!

Anyhow, it's May and things really are starting to grow tall and blossom, on a lot of levels! The strawberries outside our kitchen door are even starting to get red, and all kinds of projects I've only been dreaming about until now are coming to life.

My challenge is , and I know i'm not alone, is how to keep up with it all!? I mean really... are there enough hours in the day? I know a big illusion is "time poverty" but its really seems like there is not enough. I am commited to solving that riddle and I have a clue that it begins something like this: breathe and focus on right NOW.....there is a reason cliches are cliches.... usually TRUTH! 

Anyhow, I am excited and I hope you are too. Lets keep planting those seeds and watching them sprout!

I received chocolates, a teddy bear, a balloon and a CAKE MADE OF FLOWERS!!! from Mom and Dad Lacho. So sweet!!!!!!

We made it to the beach in the afternoon and I read birthday cards from my folks and opened their gifts. I am so lucky.

My friend Mari made this living brooch for me and so I put it on my hat! Isn't it awesome!?

Then a ladybug flew over! The signifigance of this was huge and made me overjoyed. Ladybugs are like little messengers.

We walked over to the bathrooms and took the ladybug with us and dropped her off back closer to the trees and plants. When I walked out of the bathroom I overheard a little girl say the word "Ladybug" to her distracted mother, and naturally my ears perked up. I stood by as she kneeled down and wrote something in the sand. I got this feeling that I was experiencing a full circle meeting of worlds in that moment. Subtle and striking. Then the girl stands up, looking me shyly in the eyes, smiles and runs off with her family. I go and look what she wrote. "LADYBUGS NEED FOOD" Yes , indeed. I was opened in that moment, realizing the interconnections between us all.

Then we head on over to meet our good friends Harimander and Gurujas for a celebratory dinner. We were going to go to this new restaurant in Santa Monica called the Golden Mean, but they were running late so we went to go meet them at their house first so we could just all go in one car. We both pulled up at the same time, and we all went over to drop in the house for a minute. As soon as we step in the door , the lights come on and its SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All our friends there and even our teacher Harijiwan! singing Happy Birthday to Gurujas and I ( her birthday is May 11) .. My jaw hit the floor and my heart beat like mad. I was stunned! I've never been surprised like that before , it was wonderful. and we even had a pinata!!!!!!!!!

We have the sweetest husbands in the world!

My wish already came true.

(Perhaps I am 1 years old here? Aren't my parents the cutest ever?!)

I turned 30 today! I remember when I turned 20 and when I turned 10.

1o was a big one, I remember walking through the rain with my Dad in Key West, I think there was a huge storm and flooding, and I remember just chattering on about how cool it was that I was going to be in the double digits!

Turning 20 was memorable because that is the year my best friend Rachel and I won a poll dancing contest at Hiphuggers in Savannah, GA. The place even more cheesy than it sounds. Rachel wore rollerskates all night and we both won free trips to Florida for our triumphs. Some jealous girls that heard we were only 20 told on us after we won and we ended up getting chased out of the bar....I don't remember much else...I know there are pictures out there somewhere...I'd love to see them!

And now 10 years later. I don't drink or smoke, I do yoga all the time, and work relentlessly....and I'm happier than ever! Nothing beats being turned on by life and in the creative flow, not even double digits, poll dances and free trips to Florida! I am so thankful for my life and everyone and everything in it, including you! Now off to go celebrate the day and the warm California sunshine!!!

PS Thanks Mom and Dad for giving me such a beautiful life! I love you both beyond words and through eternity and will be forever grateful.]]>
