My friend Rachel Gold is a fabulous set designer working on a movie right now in my old high school town Sarasota, FL. The other day she called me up and asked if i had any collages that she could use for background art in the movie, which is a 70's period piece starring Anna Paquin- I forget the name of it right now. Anyhow, I sent her this collage I did a few years ago and her art director loved it and so its going to be blown up big, framed and hung on a cheezy motel wall!!! It is kind of flattering and unflattering all at the same time! No really, I am excited that a little piece of my art can be a part of someone else's art.. I look fwd to seeing this movie now even more -- I was already wanting to see it because A. Rachels set design skillz are mad genius and I want to see her handicraft B. I want to see Sarasota in 70's glory.. I tore that place up when i was a wee lass of 16. Oh man I went insane in that town, repeatedly, the way teenagers do... Mostly good memories though :) Anyhow - I'll keep ya'll posted! Dreams come true in the most interesting of ways...

Another "wallet" collage ( that never got made into a wallet) I found the other day. This dates back to approx 2003-2004 Brooklyn days. I was so fired up for creation back then. I would brew a pot of  espresso and drink it by the cup and just cut, paste and sew away in my tiny room..this room was so small I had to fold up the bed to sit at my desk.....Good times but life is better now...especially when I leave the computer alone and get my hands dirty!...which seems to be more rare these days///but oh well. Anyhow, I'm glad I found this, I don't think I've seen it since it was made and it is quite fitting that it was found this week. Supplications to Lady Victory! Yes!!! Let us all be victorious in our endevours!]]>

When I was going through my paper stash the other day I found this collage wallet design I made for a friend way back in 2003, when I first started doing this biz and was living in Brooklyn. This guy was a bartender at the restaurant I was working in. It was this place called Nar in Williamsburg on Berry and Metropolitan. It's not there anymore... I was really into making collaged items for people that were reflections/portraits of the person's energy, though I wouldn't have used those exact words about it at the time. I feel like if you knew who this was for you would think i did a good job. Too bad I can't even remember his name. He had Hungarian ancestry...that's it.. And no I didn't have a crush on him either. At that point I was completely insane over someone else (the boss of said restaurant...what  a mess) but that is beside the point..... ahh memory lane.]]>
